The Consul General of the Republic of Uganda Visits the Kenya Port Authority

The Consul General of the Republic of Uganda in Mombasa,Amb.Paul Mukumbya accompanied by the Acting Commissioner URA, Mombasa Mr Julius Rubahamya with two officers from the Consulate made an official visit to the MD of Kenya Port Authority in Mombasa and discussed a wide range of trade and investment related issues.  The CG  thanked the MD for availing Uganda Revenue Authority with space to host it's offices at the port. The CG was also extended his deep appreciation for the cordial and effective working relations between the port authorities and agencies which reduced the container clearing time from weeks to less than 3days .The MD informed of how 79% of the port transactions were majorly handling Uganda cargo and it was 82% with covid pandemic affecting port activities. The MD also informed that Ugandan traders had always been given waiver whenever the delays would be as a result of the port authorities. The two exchanged gifts, the CG invited the MD to Uganda and the meeting ended successfully.
