WATOTO SOCCER AFRICA AWARDS 2017

Over the weekend on 1st July 2017 Uganda Consulate - Mombasa was delighted to be part of the guests that were invited to attend the 7th Edition of the Watoto Africa Soccer Awards (WASA).
Mariam Mpaata, a Ugandan in the diaspora, the C.E.O and founder of WASA said in her remarks that this platform (WASA) has used football as a tool to address barriers socially, financially and economically especially among the youth. As well as use the WASA platform to promote relevant messages to young people. WASA has also been expanded to Uganda having been launched last year and received a positive response from the football Federation. The event involved awarding the best players, community clubs and school clubs that have been participating in the gala.
The event was also attended by the President of the Football Kenya Federation who was the Guest of Honor.
Theme of the event was “Fostering Peace through Sports and Cultural Diversity”
