AMB. KATUREEBE TAYEBWA MEETS WITH MR. JULIUS MUSYOKI; COMMISSIONER CUSTOMS KENYA REVENUE AUTHORITY IN NAIROBI.

On 23rd May 2017, Amb. Katureebe Tayebwa paid a courtesy call on Mr. Julius Musyoki, Commissioner Customs Kenya Revenue Authority Kenneth at his office at Times Tower Nairobi. 

The meeting focused on challenges being faced by different players in trade among which includes the importers, exporters along the corridor.  The two also discussed the benefits that have been brought about by the Electronic Cargo Tracking System (ECT's) and how this mechanism has contributed to the facilitation of trade in helping to track cargo under the Single Customs Territory (SCT).  

Other matters in regard to trade that were discussed included overstayed cargo, cargo condemned for destruction and an appropriate method to publicize cargo belonging to importers who are not from Kenya and has been earmarked for auction.

The Commissioner agreed to continue engaging stakeholders and service providers on the issues discussed.
